We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Site Manager to undertake Fire Safety Improvement works on a 3.5 year fixed term contract. This is a full-time role, based at HMP Norwich.

Duties of the Role:

  • Manage the Fire Safety Improvement works site and liaise with the MOJ.
  • Manage the contract works on site in accordance with company procedures and systems and monitor the construction process throughout.
  • Organise, attend and chair on-site progress / production meetings with the team and / or sub-contractors and suppliers as required.
  • Maintain a daily site activity log (daily diary) on Work Wallet, including photographs, to monitor and record progress for future use and reference.
  • Understand all company electronic management systems and software required to undertake the role.
  • Support the delivery of construction targets and deadlines.
  • Maintain good working relationships with the site team, client representatives, third parties and public.
  • Liaise with the site commercial team to assist in delivery of project margin and management of effective cost control.
  • Ensure that highest possible safety standards are always maintained.
  • To be responsible for the delivery of Project Quality Plans / Inspection & Test Plans.
  • Fully understand the site logistic arrangements and ensure compliant delivery of each element
  • Any other duties associated with this position which are related to the objectives of the Company or Team or contribute to individual development.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience of managing sites in a Prison Environment understanding the MOJ protocols involved.
  • Have an appropriate academic qualification and sufficient onsite experience.
  • Have a knowledge of construction processes and procedures. Be able to read and work to drawings and specifications.
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Support the site team with their health and wellbeing.
  • Report writing skills and use of work wallet.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Knowledge of H&S policy and legislation.
  • Knowledge of the CCS requirements.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • Experience in Viewpoint 4P, SnagR and M-Site.
